Solo recital

Martin Šulec's solo recital will guide you both through the history of music and the instrument itself. The concert program includes compositions from the Baroque period, as well as original compositions by Czech and foreign composers and accordionists. Let yourself be absorbed by the colorfulness of a musical instrument such as the accordion and get to know it in a way you could not imagine. Although the accordion is a relatively powerful musical instrument, it can express very inner and even meditative moods.

The Czech Accordion ensemble is a unique ensemble founded by accordion virtuoso Ladislav Horák at the Prague Conservatory. The members are the best performers of the young generation - Martin Šulc, winner of the international TV show Virtuosos 4+, as well as Andrea Šulcová, a student at the Prague Conservatory and Filip Kratochvíl, laureates of international music competitions. The ensemble performed at festivals here and abroad, such as Klášterecké húdenica prameny, Culture in the Heart of Prague, New Music on the Second (Munich, Nuremberg), International Accordion Days in Prague, J. Plečnik Anniversary Concert at Prague Castle, NF Benefit Concert Zdeňka Žadníková and others. He inspired the creation of new compositions that he premiered (S. Hippe, H. Becker, P. Trojan, J. Bezděk, M. Cimbál).

In the way of Astor Piazzolla

Astor Piazzolla, originally from Argentina, was a brilliant composer, bandoneonist and founder of the so-called Tango nuevo. His work was influenced by studying classical composition at the Paris Conservatoire with Nadi Boulanger. Thanks to Piazzolla's interest in classical and at the same time traditional Argentinian-Italian music, a symbiosis of these two genres was created, which Piazzolla skillfully transfers into his compositions. Violinist Daniel Matejča - winner of many international awards, including Eurovision, and accordionist Martin Šulc - laureate of many international competitions, including V4+ Virtuosos, will guide you on a pilgrimage through the life and work of Astor Piazzolla in a relatively traditional interpretation.
